Life is generally hectic, and many times our bodies can't keep up with our crazy routine. When that happens, we need to revive ourselves from the insides while keeping our energy levels high. And there's no better way to do that than through a detox. Body detox is a process of detoxification that tries to eliminate toxic substances from our bodies.

There are several ways to detox, and many of them have different results. Some people don't call it detox; instead, they call it a cleanse. But it essentially means the same thing; ridding your body of harmful toxins. In this article, we'll be exploring the different detox solutions you can explore and their effects on your body.

Even a short fast has a way of eliminating toxins from your body. This is especially true if your fasting routine allows you to eat fruits and light vegetables. Getting off regular and harmful food for a while may be what your body needs to detoxify itself naturally completely.

Exercises are very good at removing harmful toxins from the body. Exercises do this by quickening breathing, increasing sweat production, and promoting blood circulation. These are all factors that help our body detox naturally, without the help of additional detox agents. The more blood the body circulates, the easier it is for the liver and lymph nodes to do their jobs and detox the body.

Limit Alcohol

The first kind of detoxification you should try out has absolutely nothing to do with a detox agent. All you need to do is reduce your intake of a certain toxic agent. And the name of that agent is alcohol.

About 90% of alcohol is metabolized in your liver, and the enzymes in your liver metabolize alcohol to acetaldehyde, a known cancer-causing chemical. Of course, your liver recognizes acetaldehyde as a toxin and changes it to a harmless substance called acetate, which is then eliminated from your body.

Many studies have shown that moderate drinking of alcohol is harmless; however, they all warn against excessive alcohol consumption dangers. Excessive alcohol intake can massively increase the build-up of acetaldehyde in your body, cause fat build-up, and even cause scarring. That's something you don't want, and reducing your alcohol intake could reduce the chances of this happening to you.

Sleep Better

Another way to detoxify without drinking a weird green shake is to get a lot of sleep. It's easy to forget that our bodies need a lot of sleep, especially when we lead hectic lives. But sleep remains very important, and a great sleep routine comes with great health benefits.

Many studies have linked poor sleep to several ailments such as heart disease, stress, and even obesity. Doctors agree that you should get about nine hours of sleep every night to protect yourself from the dangers of poor sleep.

Drink More Water

Finally, we've gotten to where you need to take something. Many people don't think drinking water is vital to good health because water is readily available everywhere. But the availability of water doesn't mean it isn't vital.

Water is so important to many processes in the body, and some of them include regulating your body temperature, lubricating your joints, and aiding digestion. Without water, your body won't be able to carry out these tasks. Drinking more water will enable your body to work better and will help you feel a lot better.

Decrease Your Salt Intake

Salt is good, but like alcohol, too much can be terrible. Consuming too much salt can let your body build up excessive fluid, and that fluid can make you bloat. It can also make you obese quite easily, which is something you wouldn't want.

It may seem counterintuitive, but increasing your water intake is one of the best ways to reduce the bloating you get from excessive water intake. When you take too much salt and not enough water, your body releases an antidiuretic hormone that stops you from urinating, which prevents detoxification.

When you increase your water intake, your body stops secreting the antidiuretic hormone and allows you to urinate more water and waste products easily.

Add More Potassium Rich Food To Your Diet

You should also add more potassium-rich foods like squash, kidney beans, bananas, and spinach to your diet. These foods will counterbalance the effects of sodium in your body and allow you to detoxify easier than you would have without them.
